SEATTLE – June 2, 2015 – Tempered Networks, Inc. announced today that Jeff Pancottine has been appointed Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing, effective June 1, 2015. A veteran in the technology industry, Pancottine has a successful track record across the telecommunications, server, networking, security, and SaaS markets.

“Tempered Networks fills a big void in the market with the intensity of cyber attacks against business critical infrastructure by criminal, nation state, and hacktivists,” said Jeff Pancottine, SVP of Sales and Marketing at Tempered Networks. “Add to that, the exponential growth of inter-connected devices and systems increases an organization’s attack surface as they make their way onto IP-based networks. I see a distinct opportunity for Tempered that offers an unparalleled way to help customers securely connect and cloak high value assets and systems—at Internet scale. The timing for Tempered couldn’t be better and my priority is to build on the company’s unique value proposition and grow the business.”

Pancottine’s most recent role was Senior Vice President and General Manager of the SteelApp business unit at Riverbed Technology, recently acquired by Brocade. Previously, he was the CEO and President of Daptiv and has held senior executive roles at Juniper Networks, F5 Networks, Sun Microsystems and Cray Research. He currently sits on the board of directors for Wizmo, a SaaS hosting provider.

“Tempered’s unique approach for solving the inherent security issues with TCP/IP is carving a new market category for cyber security,” said Jeff Hussey, CEO of Tempered Networks. “With this rich and ripe opportunity, comes the need to help organizations rethink how they solve their security issues. Jeff’s deep experience and success in developing winning strategies in new markets will help position us for success.”

Pancottine holds a BS in Computer Science from University of California, Riverside and an MS in Computer Science from Cornell University.

About Tempered Networks

Tempered Networks is the pioneer of Identity-Defined Networking (IDN), unifying networking and security with a simplified approach that removes the constraints of IP networking. Our elastic and fully encrypted IDN fabric protects every connected resource with a unique crypto identity, instead of a spoofable IP address, enabling you to cloak any IP or serial-enabled endpoint, machine or network--with no IP modifications. For the first time, any network and connected resource can be orchestrated, cloaked, and encrypted from the start. Device-based trust is flexible and portable and extends from any external and public cloud network to internal network hosts and clients. Any IP resource can now be instantly provisioned, moved, or revoked, making your network as adaptable as software, more secure, and simpler to manage. For more information go to Tempered Networks.
